What a bloody anti-climatic clip. :(
Heh, thought it meant they finally had the balls to send one of the fabled pirate motherships that we’ve been hearing on the news back to the stone age.
Unfortunately it was just a tiny boat (looks like a motorised dhow) detonated by a CIWS (close-in weapon system). Shucks that doesn’t seem to put any fear in the pirates…
But several things on my mind:
1) What explosive material was there on the boat?
1a) Did the brits pack it with explosives? If so, couldn’t they just detonate it a la james bond? C’mon, hollywood tech surely isn’t beyond the Royal Navy.
2) If a dhow with ten men poses a serious threat to a huge cargo vessel, what happens if the pirates realise they should start coordinating their attacks?
3) Can’t imagine the shock and awe when they open up with their main guns and/or missiles. But yes, that would be a waste of ammunition and money.
