Washing, Cleaning Crumpler Bags

Various Crumpler Products

My family has quite a number of crumpler bags, and i was wondering how to clean them.

So here’s a solution:

Despite their indestructible reputation (i attest to the fact that they certainly are built to last, and hence are value for money), the company states on it’s website:

Spot clean exterior stains with luke warm water and mild soap/ For heavy soiling, lightly wipe with a soft cloth (scrubiing or strong detergent may remove the protective coating from the fabric). Avoid fully submerging bag in water as this may encourage mould. Remove soap residue with a damp cloth. Dry in shade.

  • DO NOT dry clean
  • DO NOT tumble dry
  • DO NOT use harsh chemicals/detergents
  • DO NOT iron

Hmmm. So the treated fabric seems to be the reason why we can’t wash them.

Talking about water and washing, i learnt the hard way that the interior of my messenger bag is waterproof. Well, there was once i brought my laptop to school and my water bottle wasn’t capped tightly. So well, my laptop in the bag’s interior sleeve, had been sitting, half soaked in water for at least twenty minutes. Remember dala literally had to pour all the water out of my bag. The exterior was only mildly damp – hence i didn’t suspect the bottle was leaking until it was too late. Replacing the logic board cost me $1200.
