[YouTube] Ombra Mai Fu by Two Great Vocalists

Found a piece that are sung by two favourite male vocalists of mine – Ombra Mai Fu.

The first is russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky, while the other is countertenor Yoshikazu Mera (there are approximately only 20 professional countertenors in the world).

Hvorostovsky’s an idol of sorts. His voice is not exactly very responsive, but i love his tone, and i do what little i can to emulate him. Heh. He’s a great performer and you have to catch his best in the third clip where he and Bryn Terfel (another idol of mine) meet. Skip to the part where Terfel describes his own trepidation in coming up against Dmitri. The latter’s intro of Ombra Mai Fu in that third clip is stunning. That control and resonance is extreme.
