How To Take iPhone Screenshots

Just discovered this really nifty trick on the web. You can now take screen shots of whatever is on your iPhone’s screen and save it to your iPhone library.

Simply:

  1. When viewing the page you want to capture, depress the home button and the power/standby button simultaneously.
  2. The screen will flash once and your will hear a shutter sound when the image is taken.
  3. The image is automatically saved to your camera roll.

Tips/Tricks:

  1. Transfer the image to your computer via conventional syncing.
  2. OR, if you’ve a wordpress blog and want to post the image directly to your blog, use the wordpress iPhone application, add your images to a post and either save it as a draft or publish it. That’s what i usually do.
  3. If you’re feeling a bit mischievous, borrow a friend’s iPhone and snap a picture of his home screen in the manner above. Go to the camera roll, open the image and hand it back to him. He’ll think you’ve bricked or hung his iPhone, as he tries to get it to work. Works with the usual standby screen as well. Imagine your friend frantically swiping, trying to unlock his phone.

(you can see the wordpress application logo in the first image below)

EDIT: You don’t actually have to have to press the two buttons at the same time. As long as the pause between either one is just a split second, it should still work. To figure out the maximum possible pause, go try it out yourself! :)
