After lunch at an authentic korean restaurant in Bangalore, i spotted this father and son duo as we were leaving the restaurant’s compound. The kid didn’t look above fourteen and am guessing his dad was simply teaching him how to ride a bike. That’s like a couple of years too early, but heck, while in secondary school i’ve had indian friends tell me their adventures of driving a car on the streets while visiting relatives in the land of Bharat.
In the couple of minutes that dad was talking on the phone, junior was just playing around trying to start the bike. And it did lurch several times, but dad’s phone call seemed more important.
If you noticed, aside from the fact that this is a bit of harmless fun (not), neither are wearing any safety gear (something i’d never do with my kids) nor are they practising in a traffic-free enviroment. Heck, the kid had no idea how to start a bike and dad allows both to loiter very much like sitting ducks while vehicles whizzed by. Those two were right on the edge of a B road.
