Cockroach Cannibalism

Snapped a picture of a cockroach nibbling on the rear end of its half dead breathren while i was using the gents at novena square yesterday. Assumed it was a mating ritual, but then again, mating rituals don’t involve dragging one’s partner violently across the floor.

Two questions then:

1. Do cockroaches indulge in cannibalism?

2. Do they find the rear ends of other cockroaches delectable?
